A Die Hard Christmas

“The explosives were wired to the rooftop with care, in hopes that the hostages soon would be there.”

Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? I certainly think so, but plenty of people disagree. To illustrate my point of view, I rewrote Die Hard as a children’s picture book, merging the action film with the holiday poem A Visit From St. Nicholas (commonly called Twas the Night Before Christmas). And you know what? It wasn’t hard to merge the two stories. Die Hard already embodies so much of the magic of Christmas. Think of John’s magical flight from the rooftop, or his tearful reunion with Holly. Look at her name! Holly! Anyhow, every holiday season fellow Die Hard fans reach out and tell me that reading the book has become a Christmas tradition for them, and that warms my heart.
